We take abuse seriously in our book lists. Romans in Britain is now Primary History - Romans, with a new URL. The sweep of history which embraces the philosophers and schools we have just surveyed spans seven hundred years. So quite naturally we find "obfuscated" and "territorialized" (but "talk-ed" and "walk-ed" in English use the same "-ed" for Past Tense and also for Passive). Pyrrhonian Skepticism refutes all dogmas and opinions and vehemently clings to indeterminacy, even the idea that “nothing can be known.” Aenesidemus, the Pyrrhonian Skeptic, advanced the “Ten Modes,” arguments that address typical difficulties in appearances and judgment—each aimed toward the conclusion that we ought to suspend judgment if we are to be at peace.

The Laws, a work reported to have been still on wax tablets, and so presumably left unfinished, when Plato died (Diogenes Laertius III. 37), treats the specificity of politics as a matter not of distinct vocational expertise but of the requirements of a “second-best” (739a) city, one in which the ideal regime of Kallipolis requiring an absence of private property for the guardians is not followed. The latest of the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha are the Apocalypses of Ezra and Baruch, written in the decades following the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE.
