The Boston Massacre was a street fight that happened on March 5, 1770. As discussed earlier, Census reports demonstrate significant increases in Asian and Hispanic populations, which are predicted to continue. By compelling nonunion employers to match union gains, this limited the competitive penalty borne by unionized firms. This kind of research, requiring trained field-workers to interview representative informants in their homes, subsequently was extended to the entire Atlantic Coast, the north-central states, the upper Midwest, the Pacific Coast, the Gulf states, and Oklahoma.
